Event: First Book In After Stay Out Course

The feeling totally sucks. What else can i say? I went berserk on the day i booked in and i kept hitting my erm, bed with my erm, pants. Lol.

Emo: Being Single

Recently there has been a lot of talk with my driving course platoon mates about, well, being attached. I dont think im good looking, but when i hear that extremely erm, you know, kind of people have girlfriends, i can get kind of frustrated. The "i want to bang my head against the wall cause i'm so pathetic for such a guy to have a stead yet i dont have" kind of frustration. I dont really crave to be attached though. I mean, there's a lot of good things about being single. Or so they say. But whenever i shop alone in town, the lonliness creeps up on me. And i do feel quite upset when i see a couple. 

Oh well.

Emo Event: End of Course

And so today marks the end of my driving course. Its a happy day, that is if i had kept to my mentality at the start of the course. At first, i really hated driving, really hated being scolded by my instructor all the time, hated having to pay all the transportation fees and having to sleep early though i'm at home cause there's driving the next day. I wont say i appreciate stay out more now than previously, or that i love driving now. But i didnt expected myself to make many new friends and to dread going back to unit so much.

Ashley whom i bade farewell after my BMT, Keroy, a fellow signaller, Jeremy, Luke and Alan my group members. These are just a few whom i'll really miss. [The fact that Luke and Alan shares my height (not common) and Jeremy being much taller than us causes the shorter ones to get teased by the instructor all the time.] The sad thing is, most likely i wont meet them again, simply because most likely our paths will cross no more. The sadder thing is, Kay Siong offered me a ride back on his dad's car and i agreed. I didnt even say a proper goodbye to my friends. Maybe i'm dwelling on this so much this time cause i'm not good at making friends all along. 

Its nice getting together with my BMT platoon mate, its nice knowing another fellow signaller, its nice to be in group 6 where the members are 3 not so tall guys and 1 quite tall guy. Its nice to know so many people from different units. Guys, dont hesitate to call me when you want to hor. And to the future-passes, you guys will pass soon, you and i know it, cause "Never Say Die, JEEP!"

We ended off with all the superiors giving their final words as their debrief. Dont speed, switch on head lights, comply with traffic rules... We said the driver's pledge one more time. I actually felt sad. We fell out with a loud shout of JEEP! As i walked out, i couldnt see my driving friends, as they got covered by the flood of people booking out. And finally, i managed to talk to some of them, then the car came and i hopped onto it. Looking back, the regret was heavy, even if i had shouted one last goodbye. And hence forth, we shall be course mates no longer. But you will be missed. Dearly.

For once i hope i'm wrong, and we will meet again.

Event: Island Wide Confidence Driving

154km. 300mins of driving. A skilled driver like myself.


This aptly sums up my activities today. Maybe except for the skilled driver part.



This is the end of the 3rd week of my driving course. I havnt blogged about it at all until now cause i'm always too tired by the time i reach back home. The most i blogged were short little posts. Anyways learning to drive in a military institution is extremely different from civilian i believe. I shant elaborate at this point of my entry but anyhow, i've already passed everything. Highway code theory test, highway situational theory test, parking test and the actual driving test, i've passed all of them in one try. How much better (luckier) a driver can i be?


From this course, i've learnt that Singaporeans are extremely atrociously horribly lousy and reckless and inconsiderate road users. Be it pedestrians or drivers, they all make me dread driving so much all the time, even now that i've gotten my license.


Trucks and sports cars cutting into your lane without signalling at high speed, taxis suddenly lane-changing into your lane and stop right in front of you without warning, drivers who refuse to give way to let me lane change, drivers who horned me just because i'm a little slow in making a right turn, drivers who refused to give way to major road vehicles and insist on barging out to their exit, pedestrians who are sotong-ish blur and cross the road without realising that a wobbly L-plate driver is making a right turn, jay walkers who dash across the road thinking that the stupid military jeep wont go any faster. I had my fair share of near accidents and i am glad that im still alive to tell my story. But i'll bet that i wont be driving much even after i get my civilian license. At least not with a manual vehicle.



Now, i wont say im a confident driver, neither am i a good driver. But i guess i can make it from one point to another in one piece. I just proved myself today that i can make it on the expressway. drive 154km in 300mins and not doze off. Not bad. 50km more to end my island wide confidence driving.

The Body Shop is having 40% discount off shower gels again so i decided that i should buy this time. I've gotten the Moringa one and the Olive one. And gosh, do i love the smell of Moringa shower gel. It says "delicately floral soap-free cleansing, with moisturising moringa leaf extract and Community Trade organic honey". Its the honey that makes me go high.

Thought of the Day: Woes of a Photographer

We dont get into the picture, and we cant ask to get into the picture.

I love taking photos. Scenery, gatherings, happenings, cam whoring...

But apart from cam whoring, i dont really see myself in my 2GB worth of photos, whether taken by myself or other people in the events that happened in the 19 years of my life thus far.
