Tech Speak: Google Drops Support For H.264

http://techcrunch.com/2011/01/11/google-chrome-browser-h-264-video/

It is upsetting to know that Google and friends (Firefox, the open source people and the likes) are not continuing to support H.264, a common video codec widely used by Apple. As a user of H.264 (infrequently but still), I felt that it was a promising codec seeing how both Apple and Google supported it (Youtube was trying out a ton of H.264 vids if I'm not wrong). Still, there's no much hype about Web M which incidentally I only recalled upon reading the article above. At least Adobe is jumping onto the ship for Web M (a new open source codec project spearheaded by Google and joined by many many other platforms).

Youtube: Bad Romance Parody

Lady Gaga's Bad Romance parody. Excellent and funny stuff. Wish I could dance at least like this. (and sing too)

By the way there's rumours that Lady Gaga amputated her leg for fashion reasons. It's madness. Please let this be false... How is she going to dance like that? Gosh...

Youtube: Lady Gaga's Telephone

I just realised that I FORGOT to post about Lady Gaga's Telephone music video. I deserved to be punished by Gaga. Okay that sort of brings in wrong ideas. Whatever.

I read up on Gaga's Bad Romance music video last time at http://vigilantcitizen.com/?p=2737 and it sort of makes a lot of sense about how Gaga kind of relates to demon worshipping, and many inner meanings with the music industries and her fans. I was surprised to find out that Telephone may be a continuation of Paparazzi's music video since scene started with Gaga being in jail and in Paparazzi's music video, Gaga poisoned her boyfriend at the end of the video. Makes sense. The same website attempted to interpret Telephone as well. I'll say it makes sense to a certain extent but everyone should take it with a pinch of salt. http://vigilantcitizen.com/?p=3423

Tech Speak: Cute Video On Google Chrome

Chrome has come a long way. It is a very much customisable browser with its themes and extensions (much like the firefox). It is indisputably fast and user friendly as well.

That said, Chrome is not fully compatible with every single website, even including popular sites like Facebook and its own site Blogger. I have learnt to live with it though since the bugs are minor. Chrome's cold start speed is remarkably slow on my computer. But look beyond all that, and you have a blazingly fast browser.

Music:

After my Taiwan trip, I was again reminded that I totally love this song, cause I sang it in a KTV there. This song is called 夜访吸血鬼 by May Day. It's about vampires, how they're lonely, neither demon nor angel, how they can't die even though they want to. It's a really nice song with pretty interesting lyrics.

Tech Speak: Googling Videos

Below are 3 videos from Google I just viewed which I find interesting. The first one is about love for Gmail. Google asked everyone to chipped in a bit of video, anything as long as it includes the picture of the Gmail logo. The final product is the combination of them all and I must say its quite nice. I'm so disappointed that I didn't see this advertisement if not I would so make a good one. Anyways that said, if anyone of you is still using hotmail or whatever gibberish-y thingy, it's a good time to change. The reason why is shown in a Google Theatre video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBbmiQhuAhU . I know there have been reports of Gmail having downtime. But don't fret such small things, the gibberish-y stuff are far worse.

The second video is about the prowess of Google Docs. I don't use them so much personally, since I'm still not working but I have quite a number of documents uploaded to Google Docs. The ease of using and sharing documents is shown in this funny and lovey dovey video.

The third video is about Google Wave. It's the next big thing, which I believe has the potential to eliminate emails. Imagine a group of friends working on a document at the same time, on different computers. Real time, mind you. You will be able to see changes made to the document real time, and if you're not around, you can play-back changes made to the document by your friends. Its still in invited beta now, and I'm disappointed that I ain't religious to Google enough to get invited. But oh well, do watch the video. It's really awesome. Enough said.

Youtube: Taylor Interrupted

Oh man, the poor girl. I don't blame her for being speechless after that. It's her big night and someone has to come and ruin it.

Youtube: Windows Mobile

I was never a fan of Microsoft (though i hold much lesser grudge against their mobile products), but you've got to admit that this is good.
